Detour afterglow

I had a great time at the Detour party this weekend! The bands were great on Friday night, and it was a good time hanging out and peddling my goods.

The Loop make-n-take was a blast! We had lots of people coming to take a break from the music and craft with us. Here are some pics:

Custom Name Tags!

So, I (Amy) made some super cute name tags for the Handmade Detroit gals to wear at DUCF. They were a big hit, and I actually got an order from an attendee at the fair to make him some! I just finished them, and Tafari at Bygbaby was kind enough to send me an awesome photo of them! Thanks Tafari!

If anyone is interested in having some of these custom lovelies made for you, please shoot me an email!

Girl Land goodies!

One of make-out goods' B.F.Fs Girl Land, is having a great little giveaway to commemorate her 100th post. All you have to do to get entered is to send her a comment (and you get even more chances if you give her shout out on your blog, live journal, etc).

Say hi for us!

Detour Launch Party!

Want to make your own jewelry while one of this fall's biggest parties swirls around you? Want to hang out with area crafters while listening to great local bands? Then you'll want to be sure and visit the Loop Make n' Take Table at the Detour Launch Party on Saturday, September 22.

Detour is a new Web site offering pop culture news and commentary, and are celebrating the launch with a huge three-day party. Like any good Detroit party, it's a showcase for world-class live music. And since crafts are as vital a feature of twenty-first century pop culture as music, local craft organizations like Loop have also been invited to join the fun.

The Loop girls are social crafters, always happy to share skills and meet friends, so we hope you'll stop by our table at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit and make some music-themed pins: Shrinky Dink cassette tapes, and little albums cut from real record vinyl. The Make n' Take table will provide all the tools, materials, and know-how needed for this fun project. You just need to bring your creative ideas, community spirit, and a suggested donation of $1.00 - $2.00.

And the craftiness doesn't end there! Loop's crafty comrades Handmade Detroit will also be at the Detour Launch Party, selling a wide range of locally crafted goods. Their table will be at the Magic Stick from 9:30 until 1:30 on Thursday, September 20; Friday, September 21; and Saturday, September 22.

Visitors to the Loop Make n' Take Table will enjoy live music by such acts as The Go, SSM, The High Strung, Mason Proper, Troy Gregory & The Stepsisters, Porchsleeper, Eons, and The Displays. Get your tickets soon, so you can be a part of this celebration of Detroit creativity.
