The Handmade Detroit Holiday Market is a two-day, juried DIY fair featuring 25+ vendors on Nov. 16 and 17th at Detroit’s Magic Stick. It’s purpose is to encourage buying handmade, local items for the holidays.
This year’s fair features a Friday VIP shopping night with entertainment. Saturday features a “traditional” DIY fair.
Friday VIP shopping will occur from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Nov. 16) with entertainment to follow. Saturday HDHM shopping will occur from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Nov. 17). Vendors must be able to sell at both times to participate.
The vendor fee is $40 and all money goes directly to HDHM organizing costs, poster printing, venue rental, advertising, etc. Due to the nature of DIY craft fairs, vendor fees are unrefundable.
We invite any indie company, record label, distro, crafter or similar small DIY venture to apply to HDHM. Since the Holiday Market’s mission is to promote makers, mass produced merchandise or vintage goods are not allowed. Our venue contract also prohibits food vendors.
The selection process is juried and will be based on uniqueness, variety and quality. Detroit and Michigan residents will be given priority.
Please read the application throughly before applying. Applications that do not include all the required info will be automatically dismissed.
